Oticon Zeal is a fully invisible, rechargeable hearing aid with AI sound processing, Bluetooth streaming, and 20-hour battery life for mild-to-moderately-severe loss.

For a lot of people, the idea of getting hearing aids comes with a familiar mental image — something bulky sitting behind the ear, visible to everyone around you. That image stops more people from getting help than most realize. But if that's what's been holding you back, the technology has genuinely changed.
The Oticon Zeal is a fully invisible, full-featured hearing aid — and we're fitting patients with it right now at Sioux Falls Audiology Associates.
The Zeal sits entirely inside your ear canal. Not just small — actually invisible from most angles. Oticon's own testing found it was "not visible or only slightly visible" in the vast majority of ears it fit well. That's a meaningful design achievement, not a marketing claim.
What sets it apart from older in-canal devices is that it doesn't sacrifice anything to achieve that size. Older tiny hearing aids came with real tradeoffs: weaker batteries, limited sound processing, no streaming capability. The Zeal changes all of that.

To fit everything inside such a small shell, Oticon developed a manufacturing process called micro-encapsulation. The internal components are sealed inside a hardened protective material — think of how amber preserves objects — leaving no hollow spaces. That compact, solid design makes room for a sealed rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
On a full charge, the Zeal gives you up to 20 hours of use. Forgot to charge it overnight? A 15-minute quick charge buys you 4 hours — enough to get through most of your day without stress.
Inside that tiny package is Oticon's most advanced AI sound processing, called DNN 2.0 (Deep Neural Network). It continuously reads your sound environment and works to reduce background noise while sharpening speech — automatically, without you touching a setting. You just hear better.
Most patients assume that a hearing aid this small can't possibly stream audio. The Zeal proves that wrong.
It connects to both iPhone and Android devices via Bluetooth, letting you stream phone calls, music, and other audio directly to your ears. It also supports Auracast, a newer technology that links you to broadcast audio systems in places like theaters, airports, and houses of worship — no extra accessories needed. The Oticon Companion app lets you adjust volume and settings from your phone whenever you want.
The antenna that powers all of this wraps subtly around the outside of your ear — a slim cord that also acts as a retention arm and a way to remove the device. After a day or two of wear, it naturally conforms to your ear's shape and you stop noticing it's there.
The Zeal is a great fit — physically and acoustically — for roughly two out of three people. In many cases, it can be fitted with flexible dome tips rather than a custom-molded shell, which means there's a good chance you can leave your first appointment wearing it the same day. Custom micro-molds are available for anyone who needs a more tailored fit.
For hearing loss, the Zeal works best for mild to moderately severe loss. It's not the right choice for every situation, and that's exactly why we'll have a real conversation about your hearing, your lifestyle, and your ears before recommending it. The goal isn't to put the smallest or newest device on you — it's to find what actually works for you.
The Zeal is one of several styles we carry. Some patients do better with a behind-the-ear or receiver-in-canal device. Others have been waiting years for something like the Zeal — a full-powered hearing aid that nobody can see.
At Sioux Falls Audiology Associates, Dr. Mandy Rounseville-Norgaard offers something most audiologists can't — personal experience as a hearing aid wearer. She was born with significant hearing loss and has worn hearing devices since age 3. That experience shapes how she approaches every fitting and every recommendation she makes.
When she explains what a hearing aid feels like to wear, she's not guessing.
If you've been putting off hearing aids partly because of how they look, the Oticon Zeal is worth a closer look. It's the most advanced invisible hearing aid available right now — and we're fitting patients with it here in Sioux Falls.
