Just as AI has disrupted industries and ignited imaginations across the globe, it has now emerged as a beacon of hope for millions who experience hearing loss. Picture hearing aids that are no longer limited to amplifying sound but possess the ability to learn and adapt, molding themselves to each individual's unique hearing needs.

Let’s explore some of the latest hearing aids in 2023 that are unlocking new dimensions of hearing and transforming lives like never before.

Phonak Lumity

The Phonak Lumity is the successor to the popular Audéo Paradise and is the first to run on AutoSense OS 5.0. It delivers new speech enhancement and directional microphone features that aim to deliver better speech clarity, especially in background noise.

Phonak's automatic adaptive setting in their hearing aids is called AutoSense, and in the Lumity family, we're now on AutoSense 5.0. AutoSense is Phonak's artificial intelligence machine learning feature that scans your environment 700 times per second and optimizes sound based on this.

The Phonak Lumity allows for eight pairings with Bluetooth devices, with two of them being able to be paired simultaneously. This means you can switch between devices without having to disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth on either of them.

There are three different models available which span each technology level: the Audéo Lumity R (rechargeable), Audéo Lumity RT (rechargeable with telecoil), and the Audéo Lumity RL (rechargeable and waterproof).

Oticon Real

The Oticon Real builds on the success of its predecessor, the Oticon More. What sets Oticon apart from many other hearing aids is their approach to sound processing. They provide the user with an open and detailed representation of their environment while trying to highlight sounds that are more likely to be of interest to the wearer. The Oticon Real maintains this processing philosophy but adds the two new features.

The Wind & Handling Stabilizer is designed to significantly reduce the volume of wind noise while preserving speech clarity, making it particularly appealing to users who lead a very active life or spend a lot of time outdoors. This feature also reduces the volume of handling noise, which are the soft rustling noises heard through the hearing aids whenever they're brushed or bumped by hair, a hat, glasses, or even a face mask.

The Sudden Sound Stabilizer is designed to monitor the wearer's environment and quickly adapt the amount of amplification given to soft and loud sounds that are sudden, providing a more natural and comfortable listening experience and preventing such sounds from negatively impacting speech clarity.

The Oticon Real is available in both behind-the-ear and receiver-in-the-canal models, in both a rechargeable and disposable battery option.

Starkey Genesis AI

Discover the Genesis AI hearing aids by Starkey—boasting their smallest and fastest processor ever made, featuring 6X more transistors than past models. This powerful processor ensures top-notch AI performance, including real-time audio cleanup with advanced compression for reduced listening effort. Experience intelligent health tracking and a Starkey personal assistant, all made possible by this remarkable processor.

The new RIC style is sleek, discreet, and durable, proving to be an excellent hearing aid for all-day wear and comfort. It also has Pro 8 HydraShield water protection and a flex form receiver cable for a better fit. Finally, the Genesis AI range includes the longest-lasting rechargeable RIC hearing aid out there, with 51 hours of use on a single charge.

The Genesis AI range of hearing aids are not going unnoticed, having recently clinched the prestigious Gold Globee® Award in the Health and Pharmaceuticals Product category at the esteemed 2023 American Business Awards. This international accolade celebrates exceptional products that redefine industry standards. Notably, this marks Starkey's second consecutive win, adding to the impressive tally of five awards garnered for their groundbreaking hearing technology since its launch in February.

Widex MOMENT Sheer

The Widex MOMENT series of hearing aids were first introduced in 2020 and have significantly improved wearers' ability to hear and understand sounds, even in complex environments. The latest version, Widex MOMENT Sheer, takes these benefits further by incorporating advanced technologies that not only address hearing loss but also enhance overall wellbeing and make everyday life easier.

The Widex MOMENT Sheer offers new technologies that enhance natural sound to improve overall wellbeing and engagement in life. The latest version of their AI-based customization tool, MySound 2.0, uses artificial intelligence and wearer-intent to enable users to hear what they want in different environments. The tool, accessible through the Widex MOMENT app, introduces a new customization parameter called compression, allowing wearers to emphasize specific sounds based on their surroundings for a more personalized hearing experience.

Finally, a new ‘SoundRelax’ feature includes eight new sounds utilizing Widex's fractal tones, a form of tinnitus sound enrichment therapy. The new sounds include relaxing tones and nature sounds designed to provide relaxation and acoustic stimulation simultaneously, helping you manage your tinnitus symptoms.
